Day 3 - UT, NV, CA

Day 3 - UT, NV, CA

I have a to admit, Utah is much more impressive when you can see it.  The nighttime drive on Saturday was a little rough.  But some of the views on Sunday were amazing.  As I woke up on Sunday, Sarah reminded me I was 300 yards from a tourist attraction ... really big soda cans.

I made a quick stop in Beaver, UT.  Not surprisingly, everything in Beaver, UT say "I ❤ Beaver".  Which is funny .. for about 3 minutes.  I assumed the locals just wished their town was named something boring, like Ogdenville or North Haverbrook.  But I get the impression they laugh at the "I ❤ Beaver" joke every time.

I also used this trip as an opportunity to learn about other cultures.  In this case, I assimilated with a Mormon community.  I was able to get a deeper understanding of Mormonism.  Here is where Mormons live.

And here is where Mormons get moderately priced Mexican food.

It was incredible to take a deep dive in Mormon culture.  It was undoubtedly the most important 2 1/2 minutes of my trip.

Driving near the National Parks in Utah was a great way to spend a few hours.  I highly recommend driving by Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park with a good Spotify playlist.

However, you can keep Nevada.  It's useless.  And the Eastern part of Southern California isn't much better.  The traffic was brutal.  All everyone wants to do is get out of the desert and get to Los Angeles, and there aren't enough lanes on the freeway to get you there fast enough.

After 2,073 miles, my work was done.  I walked to Downtown Disney for about an hour, and then I watched the fireworks from my hotel room.

I'll post pictures on another page of pictures of the days Janelle and I spent at Disneyland if anyone's interested.
